The Origin of Form & Substance
Bamboo
Bamboo combines flexibility with strength. Rapidly grown yet stable, it brings movement and clarity to design. Its fine texture appears calm and vibrant – a material that creates balance and allows spaces to breathe freely.
To transform bamboo into furniture, it undergoes a careful treatment process. Selected species are dried, treated, and stabilized in several stages to ensure durability and longevity. The result is a material that retains its natural lightness while remaining robust for everyday use.
Bamboo furniture flourishes when allowed to age naturally: regular wiping with a dry or lightly damp cloth is enough. Avoid harsh cleaners, abrasive pads, standing water, or prolonged heat. For oiled surfaces, a light annual re-oiling is sufficient. Subtle color changes are part of its natural aging process.
Teak wood
Teak stands for endurance. Slowly grown, dense and resilient, it carries calmness and depth within. Its warm surface changes over time, gaining character – a wood that endures and tells its story.
Thanks to its high content of natural oils, teak is particularly robust and easy to maintain. The surface largely protects itself and develops a patina over the years, which we embrace as part of its identity.
Teak deepens and relaxes with time. For care, a dry or slightly damp cloth is enough. Re-oiling is rarely necessary — usually no more than once a year. We consciously avoid lacquers or sealants so the wood can breathe and reveal its natural serenity.
Suar wood
Suar reveals life in all its openness. Bold grains, natural transitions, and visible marks define each of these unique pieces. No form is ever the same. Heavy, present, and expressive, Suar brings energy and grounding to your spaces.
Suar is processed with care. Its naturally grown form remains central. Cracks, edges, and lines are not hidden but deliberately preserved. The result is furniture whose character emerges directly from the material itself.
Suar is sensitive yet lively in use. Dust should be removed regularly; if necessary, wipe lightly with a damp cloth and dry immediately. Gentle re-oiling once or twice a year helps maintain the surface. Small changes or fine cracks are part of its nature, making each piece unique and preserving its character.

When Natural Materials Are Allowed to Speak
Grown Substance
Every form arises from nature, not a template. Each piece impresses with warmth, weight, and depth – not created, but already present. Balinese craftsmanship follows this substance with respect and restraint. Black, gold, or silver metal elements complement the wood thoughtfully, creating contrast without competing. The result is furniture whose expression cannot be imposed but emerges from the material itself – calm, honest, and unmistakable – AYAM.
